Chicken Dinner, Karnlea Winner

Chicken is the latest addition to the Karnlea Bone Broth range and it’s all set to be a ‘winner, winner’.

Chicken broth is known the world over as the perfect comfort food – a light and lean protein source that is as good as it tastes. Now, cats and dogs can get some of that ‘soul food’ when the new flavour is launched this month (12 November).

Ideally timed to become a seasonal favourite – Karnlea Bone Broth can be served in a variety of ways: straight from the carton as a liquid, chilled, frozen or gently warmed to keep out those winter chills.

It’s no surprise that chicken is considered a ‘wonder food’. It has many benefits: it is a great source of amino acids, helping to build mean muscle mass, while high levels of Omega 6 provide essential fatty acids to sustain healthy skin and shiny coats. Chicken bone broth also boasts high levels of collagen which supports joint health.

Highly palatable and easy to digest, Karnlea’s chicken flavour bone broth is ideal for pets who are fussy eaters or suffer from delicate tummies.

Dogs and cats love our tasty chicken flavour.

Karnlea’s founder Lara McCullough, said that the new flavour was a great addition to the range:

“What could be more perfect than chicken broth in the autumn and winter? It is known to provide great sustenance, a ‘turn to’ staple when we feel a little under the weather. It helps people recover from bouts of cold and flu by providing essential nourishment. Its recuperative and strengthening qualities are equally good for cats and dogs.”

Like Karnlea’s beef and lamb varieties, its new chicken flavour is slow-cooked using only natural ingredients: bones from free range chickens reared on cooperative farms, filtered water and a touch of apple cider vinegar to extract protein, collagen and minerals from the cooking process.

It is packed in heat-sealed cartons which maintain its freshness without the need of additives or preservatives. It can be used as a supplement, topper or treat.

Each unit contains 500ml of bone broth and will be on sale soon  at £10.99 per carton. Click here for more information

Karnlea Becomes RFVS Gold Affiliate

Karnlea, manufactures of bone broth for dogs and cats, has become a member of the Raw Feeding Veterinary Society which in turn will present its products at the London Vet Show next month (November).

The allegiance is an ideal one for Karnlea – its all natural credentials and health-boosting benefits have been heralded by raw feeders since the brand launched earlier this year.

It compliments raw diets because although cooked, Karnlea Bone Broth is unprocessed and packed from fresh with high-levels of collagen and minerals. It can be served over raw ingredients in the bowl, or combined with selected fruit and vegetables as frozen treats or for portion control.

Karnlea founder Lara McCullough, said that membership of RFVS was a meeting of minds based on core principles.

“From the get go, the nutritional and health benefits of feeding Karnlea Bone Broth were picked up by exponents of raw feeding. Karnlea Bone Broth can be added to a variety of diets: raw, dry, wet or home cooked, but raw feeders are particularly mindful of the benefits of combining natural and raw products to support good pet health.”

As a Gold Affiliate member of the RFVS, Karnlea will benefit from the society’s research and independent veterinary links.

“We are keen to highlight the use of Karnlea Bone Broth as a recuperative and palliative aid for sick animals, including those recovering from surgery who require light diets or extra hydration following anaesthetic. Adding a little bone broth to water encourages cats and dogs to consume more fluid and it can also be used over lightly cooked fish and chicken to increase palatability. It would be ideal to use within surgeries or for resale to clients.”

Karnlea Bone Broth is slow cooked for up to 24 hours to extract high levels of protein, collagen and minerals.

It can be used as a supplement, treat or topper and because it’s carton packed from fresh, it maintains high-levels of essential nutrients.  No extra processing is undertaken in its manufacture and there’s no need to defrost or reconstitute to use.

The London Vet Show takes place on the 17-18 November at the ExCel Centre, at the Royal Victoria Dock, London. The RFVS stand can be found at Q12.

Website Refresh for Karnlea

Karnlea Bone Broth has given its website a facelift to better highlight the health benefits of its collagen and mineral-packed supplement range.

The site features improved design and layout – enhancing the user journey for pet owners and trade customers alike. Health benefits and application are conveyed with greater impact using easy-to-understand infographics.

Brand development has been applied to support the introduction of new flavours and promotional bundles.

www.karnlea.com has also undergone optimisation for various browsers and devices – making it easier for customers to access on desktop, tablet or phone.

Managing Director Lara McCullough said that she was thrilled with the result.

“Our original site was developed during the company’s launch to create an online presence and provide a transactional platform for consumer sales and trade enquiries. As our range and brand identity continues to grow, it felt it appropriate to give our website a makeover to reflect this and draw greater attention to Karnlea’s health benefits for dogs and cats.

“We will continue to enhance and improve the site with new products and features over the coming months. We are keen to provide our customers with ‘added value’ content, news and offers.”

Karnlea Bone Broth is the first ‘ambient’ liquid bone broth for cats and dogs. Made from 100 per cent natural ingredients, it is slow cooked for up to 14 hours to extract high levels of protein, collagen and minerals.

It can be served as a liquid, straight from the carton, chilled for use as a jelly topper, frozen into treats/convenient portions, or used in home cooking and bakes.

Pedigree Partnership to Extend Karnlea Reach

Karnlea Bone Broth has joined forces with Pedigree Wholesale to further extend opportunities for independent pet retailers to stock its products.

The partnership will boost value and efficiency to retailers who may want to ‘dip a toe into the water’ and add quantities to existing orders – saving on shipping costs and enabling bespoke orders for dispatch to individual stores.

The move reflects the keen interest in Karnlea Bone Broth since its launch earlier this year. The Belfast company was actively approached by Pedigree Wholesale – one of the UK’s top wholesalers within the independent pet retail sector – to distribute its products in the UK.

Retailers will now be able to order through Pedigree Wholesale or continue to order direct from Karnlea.

Karnlea’s founder Lara McCulloch said the partnership was a “massive opportunity” to extend awareness and accessibility of its products.

“Pedigree Wholesale is a well-established and trusted partner which is celebrating 50 years in the business. It manages more than 2,500 accounts and has proactive sales team which updates customers on new products and recommends ways to help independent retailers grow and flourish,” she said.

Pedigree Wholesale has numerous distribution centres across the UK for fast and efficient distribution. It also promotes new products through its four-weekly magazine ‘Pet People’ and allows customers to order 24/7 through its website www.petproducts.co.uk.

“We believe that these channels will help keep customers up-to-date with our new flavours and promotional offers and support us with seasonal requirements and event opportunities,” added Lara.

The relationship extends advocacy of Karnlea Bone Broth conveying its benefits in supporting gut, skin, coat and joint health in cats and dogs, and its use as a supplement, topper and treat.

Karnlea will also feature on Pedigree Wholesale’s stand at PATS Telford next month (September).

Amanda Clark, Food Buyer, at Pedigree Wholesale said: “We are very excited to become Karnlea’s UK wholesale partner. Packed from fresh and with high levels of protein, collagen and minerals, we consider it an ideal product for supporting cat and dog health.

“We have doubled our stock levels to support its popularity in its first month with us. It is proving extremely popular, especially with retailers which put raw and natural products at the heart of their offer to customers.”
